Sammie's Story

Meet our sweet senior SAMMIE. After his owner passed away, this little guy was left alone in the home for several months, and although someone was stopping by to feed him and let him out once a day, he basically spent the majority of his days and nights alone, scared and confused. Now that he is finally safe at our rescue, he is getting the care, love and attention he deserves from our wonderful volunteers, but what he really needs is to SPEND THE REST OF HIS GOLDEN YEARS WITH YOU. We are unsure of his exact age because the person who surrendered him knew nothing about him except that he is a "senior". What we have found out is that he is neutered, has a heart murmur (which requires no medical attention), and is on medication for Lyme disease. He also has 2 very bad ear infections which we think might have affected his hearing. But despite all that he's gone through, we have also learned that he doesn’t seem to be in any pain and he's just the sweetest little guy without a care in the world who is happiest when he has a cozy blanket to snuggle under. He is also starting to show us his playful side now that he is starting to feel better and getting a bit more comfortable with his new routine. We aren’t sure if he can live with other pets though, but don’t let that prevent you from filling out an adoption application. If you are interested in adopting Sammie and have another pet our adoption coordinator can discuss this further with you once you complete your application.
Please give Sammie a second chance at the life he deserves and longs for and make his Golden Years truly golden by welcoming him into your family today!
Sammie is located at our rescue in Terryville, Ct.
Learn more about him and fill out an adoption application on our website at arfct.org/adopt and our adoption coordinator will reach out to you.
