Sammie's Story

Meet sweet senior Sammie. This darling 10y.o cocker spaniel fellow joined our rescue after his owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer and brought Sammie to the vet to be euthanized. We don’t know why the owner felt the need to have Sammy euthanized .. he maybe had no friends or family to take Sammie in or he felt that was the only option he had which is heartbreaking BUT then he found support at the vet’s office who stepped in to help when looking at Sammie’s records and a healthy dog infront of him, could not ethically euthanize him and the owner happily accepted the help. He reached out to different rescues until he found us and we said yes!

*Absolutely no hateful comments on this post* Let’s find Sammy his forever home

Sammy is super duper sweet, very healthy and is dog friendly, house broken and even crate trained. He is looking for a final home for his golden years. He is great with everyone he meets, enjoys leisurely walks and enjoys everyone he meets.

To adopt, copy the link below and paste it into your browser to submit an adoption application. Current dogs in your home must be altered, current on vetting, vaccines and monthly prevention. Failure to be so will result in application denial. *Please keep in mind, Sammie will need monthly grooming and Cocker Spaniels can be prone to ear infections.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SFMR/Dog

All adoptions include:
• Up to date on all vetting
• Free vet exam with a $50 Chewy e-gift card
• Free Fi Mini tracking collar w/ a free membership
• Complimentary grooming to any Scenthound location
