Sammi's Story

I am a sweet, gentle lady who has recently come to the shelter. My past life wasn’t bad at all—in fact, I have many wonderful memories with my previous owner. I lived a bit of a nomad life and got to see the world in ways many dogs never do. I traveled alongside my person everywhere we went, and even though life wasn’t always easy, I was very loved.<br/><br/>My owner did their very best to take care of me, making sure I was fed and got my medical needs met—so don’t worry, I’m still fat and happy! Unfortunately, that lifestyle eventually became too hard for them to keep up with, and that’s how I ended up here at the shelter.<br/><br/>Because I was the only dog for such a long time, that’s what I really prefer. I enjoy having my people all to myself and would love a calm home where I can soak up love, comfort, and stability. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a beautiful story and a big heart, I might just be your girl. 💛

Madison County Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Potential adopters are able to meet and greet with any adoptable animals. If they are interested in adopting anyone they will need to fill out an adoption application. The adoption application includes general care information, landlord and home information, as well as background. If the application is approved, adopters are given the option to pick out a leash, harness, collar, and toys for their new pet. Shelter ensures that all appropriate needs are met (they should have had: Microchip, vaccines ect) adoption fee is paid, and then adopters can take their pets home!
