Saltine's Story
My name is Saltine, and at roughly two years old, I’ve already mastered the art of relaxation. I’m a yellow Lab mix, a petite 42 pounds, and my happiest moments are spent curled up in a tight little ball, napping the day away. I'm not demanding; really, all I crave is a comfy spot and a good cuddle.

Car rides? Well, let's just say I endure them. The world whizzing by isn't my favorite but I try to be brave and go along for the ride. I'm trying hard to enjoy the things in life my people like.

Toys? Fetch? Not really my thing. I appreciate their existence, I suppose, but my true calling is being a couch potato. It suits my gentle and sweet nature. I’m not a demanding dog. I don’t bark much, and I’m house-trained. The humans call it "low maintenance," and I take pride in that.

I dream of a peaceful existence. A chaotic household would probably overwhelm me. I prefer the serenity of quiet moments. I think I'd flourish best in a senior's lap or an empty nester's home, where the days are calm and filled with affection. I don’t need a crate, and I’m not one to run away or chew on things I shouldn’t.

My foster says I need to gain some weight and build my confidence. I guess I'm a little hesitant meeting other dogs. Honestly, all I really want is a warm blanket, a loving hand to stroke my fur, and a nap. Maybe a chew bone, too. If that sounds like something you can offer, then maybe, just maybe, we’re meant to be together.

I have to tell you that I am heart worm positive. I have started treatment but I will need to be in a calm, quiet home for a while. Love of Labs is awesome and will pay for all treatments. I promise I will be healthy and ready to live my full life after my treatments are completed. It would be best if you live close to Indianapolis because I have to go to the Love of Labs partner vet to get my medicine. Can you give me the best life?

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on Adopt, Apply for a Dog. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog. You MUST be an approved applicant to meet LOLIN dogs. There is no central location or hours to meet dogs.
