Sally's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

My name is Sally and I'm 7 yrs. old and about 25 lbs. I was brought to the shelter because my owner passed away. I came to Homeward Bound after being passed around by their family members who couldn't keep me. I lost some of my eyesight and was diagnosed with SARDS, which is a sudden vision loss without a cause. I have adapted really well and get around foster mom's house and yard without a problem! I can also do steps easily. Foster mom thinks I can see a little, as I don't act completely blind or bump into things. I'm otherwise very healthy!

I am very friendly with people and good with other dogs. Not sure about cats but likely would be fine with them too. I am good on a leash and I love to take walks. I like to be with my people all the time and don't like to be left alone. I'm not destructive, just sad.

My perfect home would be with someone who isn't gone for a long time or can take me to work or daycare. Another mellow dog or cat to hang out with me would also be great. I just love kids of all ages, but would do best in a home without very young ones because I can't always see where I'm going. I allow (and love) people to pet me and I'll jump up on the couch to be near you.
Will you be my new best friend?

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $350. Dogs over 2 years old are $250. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
