We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) .<br/><br/>Sally #4 | 7 years | German Shepherd mix with a soft side<br/><br/>Sally is a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 65 pounds with beautiful brown-and-black coloring and a heart that truly loves her people. She is affectionate, sweet, and enjoys being close to her humans—belly rubs are a favorite, and she is always happy to curl up for cuddles once she feels comfortable. While she can be a bit shy and nervous at first, she warms up with patience and consistency and shows a loyal, protective side to those she trusts.<br/><br/>Sally is fully house trained and uses a doggie door with little to no accidents; however, as with many dogs, occasional accidents could happen while she adjusts to a new environment. She is comfortable being left alone for 6–8 hours with other dogs in the house and will settle after some initial barking at outside noises, which is easily redirected with commands. Crate training is going great—she goes in willingly, sleeps through the night, and often chooses her kennel for daytime naps. She knows several basic commands, including come, sit, stay, no, and wait, and responds well to structure and clear boundaries.<br/><br/>On leash, Sally can find walks stressful and may bark or react when she sees other dogs, people, or wheeled objects, though she is easily redirected and has no issues with large vehicles like trucks or motorcycles. She enjoys walks overall, as well as car rides, toys, chewing bones, and playing with her stuffies. Around other dogs, she does best with dogs her own size and has successfully bonded with a same-size dog in her foster home. She can be protective around food and toys, offering warning growls if another dog gets too close, so thoughtful management and continued training are important.<br/><br/>Sally has not yet been tested with cats or children. She has no preference for men or women and truly loves people. Her energy level falls between medium and high—she enjoys daily activity and playtime but is also able to relax and settle when it is time to unwind. Her ideal home is a patient, active family with strong leadership who will give her time to build trust and confidence. Sally would thrive in a stable, loving home committed to helping her feel safe and secure for the long term.<br/><br/>If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.<br/><br/>The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:<br/><br/>Spay/neuter<br/><br/>Microchip<br/><br/>DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.<br/><br/>Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.<br/><br/>Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.<br/><br/>Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
