Sally's Story

Entry: Stray
*Sponsored for $135 towards adoption or rescue pull fees.

9/20 SALLY, a happy 1 year old 42lb heart worm positive lab/cattle dog mix is looking for her forever home. Dog and kid friendly, arriving in early June, she is now considered URGENT to get out of the shelter.
Sally had a wonderful time going out on her Paws Around the Pee Dee adventure. She has excellent leash skills, rode nicely in the car and met lots of people and kids. Described as sweet and lovable, Sally was happy to get cuddles and give kisses. She enjoys treats, toys and pampering too...she went to Tractor Supply to have a nice bath and front nail trim. Her volunteer handlers and another PAPD volunteer family loved her.
Sally is great with other dogs, she loves to romp and reads other dogs well. She is one of the helper dogs our Evaluation team uses with newer intakes out in the play yard. She's also a great kennel mate, sharing her kennel with M&M due to shelter overcrowding. She gets along with everyone! She's a sweet, friendly girl that would make a great companion for an active home. She would love to go on walks and adventures and having another playful dog would be perfect for her.
One of our volunteers raves about how great Sally is. "Sally is one of THE BEST dogs we have, she's certainly top 3 minimum! She has helped us meet and learn about so many more of other furbabies when we get them out to play. She talks to every dog almost like a welcoming committee. She helps the shy ones see that it's okay to open up, she teaches the bouncy ones to chill out , she guides the rough housers to proper play techniques, and she cuddles up next to humans and canines alike who need her love. She is an absolute ⭐️ROCK STAR ⭐️ and she is most deserving at her chance in a loving home. She is always one we can count on to get a long with a roommate if the shelter is pressed for space because she's a really good friend! She's watched many of shelter play friends get adopted, even one of her roommates but it's soooo her time!
