This sweet girl is gentle, affectionate, and just loves children. <br/><br/>Sallie came to us from rural West Virginia after her owner passed away - alongside six large, intact male dogs. The conditions they were found in were, frankly, awful. Sallie was the only female, likely used for back-to-back litters, her thin frame and worn body showing the toll of neglect and overbreeding. But here’s the thing: Sallie is still so sweet. <br/><br/>Despite what she’s been through, Sallie is gentle, loving, and eager for kindness. She loves all humans, but especially adores the children in her foster home: she follows them from room to room and snuggles up with them as soon as they sit or lie down. And as much as she loves the kids, she still checks in regularly to see what the adults are up to - as if she's making sure everyone in the family is always okay. She's happy to hang at home if her humans have to go out, but she'll throw the biggest celebration for them when they get back home. <br/><br/>Sallie loves playing fetch and she's very inclusive - she'll bring the ball back to different family members each time, regardless of who threw it!. She also loves relaxing, sunbathing, and watching the comings and goings around her through the fence. She's great with other dogs, totally housetrained, and a great copilot in the car. She needs routine ear cleanings to keep them healthy, and a salmon oil or omega-3 supplement with her food to help with her sensitive skin. <br/><br/>Sallie is the sweetest, gentlest, most affectionate girl out there.
