Salem's Story

This adorable boy is Salem. He is 7-months-old and weighs 35 lb. We think he is a lab/hound mix. Salem is at a foster home, not at our shelter. His foster says "Salem is an absolute sweetheart! He was extremely shy when I first got him but in the short time that I have had him, he is making noticeable progress. He is gaining confidence every day! Salem is very food motivated and with a routine, is a very easy dog to take care of. He is also housetrained. Salem loves my dogs and follows their lead which has helped a lot with getting him comfortable and building confidence. Salem is leery of a leash so at my house, he runs freely in my fenced-in yard and comes in when called. At night he sleeps with me. He is fine in a crate too, but as he is getting more comfortable with his surroundings, Salem would rather be on the couch. That's his safe spot and where he snuggles most of the day. When he's not on the couch. we work on his social skills with lots of treats. If I didn't already have two dogs, Salem would be a keeper for me." Salem is neutered, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $400. If you would like to meet Salem, please complete our online adoption application at https://daws.org/daws-online-adoption-application/. Email daws@daws.org with questions.
