Meet Sakorra
Sakorra came to MLAR about as scared as you can get. We've been working with her to slowly get her more comfortable with people, noises, and not running away when she's outside. We think she's ready to find her perfect, very understanding home.
She is a very timid girl. If she isn't comfortable she will try to run away. Due to this we are asking for her to go to a home with a secure fence though she will still need to drag a leash behind her for the first few weeks till she gets used to her new environment. Young kids would scare her so adults or older teenagers would be the best fit. She loves other nice dogs so we would think a dog friend would go a long ways towards teaching her what is and isn't good to do in a home. She doesn't allow almost any petting right now but with slow, cautious interactions she is at least allowing a small scratch under the chin. She is a project dog who will take lots of time, love, and patience to work with. Does that sound like you? Do you have experience with very shy dogs? If so call us today and our behavior manager would be happy to give you more details.
If you are interested in meeting any of our adoptable dogs, please fill out an application. To apply, please visit our web site: https://www.mlar.org/adoption-overview
E-mails regarding adoption are not considered an application.
Out-of-state applicants (outside of PA/NJ/DE) will not be considered, unless there are special circumstances. Please visit our web site for more detailed information on the animals in our care, our educational campaigns, and for helpful tips on adoption. www.MLAR.org
