Saki's Story
Saki is a beautiful 2-year-old Red Heeler mix with a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart as loyal as they come. Her journey hasn’t been easy — she was found wandering the streets of Houston on January 20, 2025, the night before a freeze, covered in scars and scabs. It was clear she had been through a lot, and we couldn't leave her out in the cold.

Since then, Saki has come a long way. She’s been fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and completed slow-kill heartworm treatment like a champ. She’s now healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home.

True to her cattle dog roots, Saki is energetic, intelligent, and alert. She absolutely loves to play and gets along wonderfully with our blind male foster pug puppy — the two are inseparable! She’s also incredibly sweet and affectionate, flopping over for belly rubs any chance she gets.

Due to her rough past, Saki doesn’t do well with dominant or confrontational dogs, particularly females. After a peaceful six weeks in our home, our alpha female pug picked a fight with her — and Saki, understandably, defended herself. She’s never been the aggressor and has done great with our male dogs, but we feel she would thrive best as an only dog or in a home with calm, non-alpha companions.

Saki has survived so much and is still so full of love and joy. She deserves a family who will appreciate her resilience, provide her with structure and playtime, and shower her with the affection she craves.

If you're looking for a loyal, active, and loving companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Saki may be the perfect girl for you.
