Sakari Husky Mix Windsor, CO

Hi there! My name is Sakari, and I'm an 8-month-old female Husky mix weighing in around 38 pounds, with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. I absolutely adore playing with toys, and I'm learning to fetch it's so much fun! But don't let my energetic side fool you; I also love to cuddle and relax in the shade.

I am very trainable! I am very playful and curious. When we go on walks, I love to sniff around and explore all the different smells. I'm a good listener and respond well to gentle corrections, making walks enjoyable for both of us. I spent time in foster homes so the volunteers at Big Bones have been able to identify what I need in my forever home. Since I was a stray for a long time, I am learning quickly how to live with people and other pets. I am smart and want to impress everyone. I do well in my crate and can sleep overnight.

We're still on a mission to discover my favorite treat, but for now, I have a quirky habit of carrying around my water bowl its my favorite accessory! If you're looking for a playful yet affectionate companion, I might just be the perfect fit for your family.

My ideal family will be someone who will laugh at my puppiness but who also has the patience to help me learn. Although I like to bounce and play, if my human tells me to 'sit', I will do that especially if there are treats involved! In my foster home, I was with several big dogs and they were happy to correct me if I was too playful. I also was able to do well with cats because my human foster was clear that chasing cats was off limits. Although I would love to chase bunnies and birds, if my humans tell me that is not okay, pleasing my people is most important to me. Also, I'm extra exotic because I have one blue eye and one that is half-blue and half-brown! (This is called heterochromia... a rare coloring trait, but not a functional issue.)
