Sage's Story

Looking for a built-in best friend? Sage is your 8lb shadow, snuggle expert, and low-key comedian all in one.

Sage may have had a tough start, but she's left that chapter behind and is so ready for her next—and best—one yet. This tiny girl has blossomed into a gentle, loving, and quietly playful companion who just wants to be near her people and soak up the good life.

Once Sage picks you, you're her person. She'll happily follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and keep you company all day long. She's the kind of dog who forms a deep, loyal bond—and it's really special.

She's also incredibly easy to have in the home—100% pee pad trained, respectful, and low-maintenance. Sage gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids, and would absolutely love a home with a confident, friendly dog sibling to help show her the ropes and keep her company.

Sage has a soft, sweet personality with a touch of playful curiosity—she enjoys being part of whatever you're doing, whether that's lounging, puttering around the apartment, or just hanging out together. She had a little separation anxiety when she first arrived (understandably!), but she's adjusted beautifully and is now much more comfortable on her own.

Because of her past, Sage can still be a bit sensitive to sudden movements or unfamiliar objects (brooms are her nemesis!), but she continues to gain confidence every day. All she needs is a patient, loving home that will let her move at her own pace and continue to show her how safe and happy life can be.

Sage isn't just looking for any home—she's looking for her person. And once she finds you, you'll have a loyal little shadow and best friend for life.

Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.

To apply to adopt Sage, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
