Sage 's Story
Meet Sage!

47 lbs
4 years
Female spayed

Sage is a 4-year-old spayed Lab mix with a gentle soul, a goofy streak, and a heart full of love for her people. She’s the kind of dog who always seems to find the good in life and brings calm, joyful energy wherever she goes.

Sage is fully house trained and does a great job walking on a leash. She’s especially polite on walks, enjoying nature at her own pace and showing interest in people she meets without being pushy — she’ll happily accept pets when invited. She’s a sweet, curious girl who truly wants to connect with her humans.

When it comes to other dogs, Sage can be a bit nervous and cautious, especially at first. She is not aggressive, but she is protective and would do best with slow, thoughtful introductions if placed in a multi-dog home. She rarely barks, though she may vocalize if startled by someone or another dog approaching from behind.

Sage has occasional playful bursts where she’ll romp around near her people, but overall she’s a certified couch potato. Her favorite activities include lounging on the couch, relaxing in her dog bed with a snack, and soaking up quality time with her humans. She’s wonderfully attuned to body language and knows when it’s time to calm down.

This loving girl is very attached to her people and can feel anxious when left alone. She is crate trained, though she may be a bit vocal during the day because she misses you. She has been making great progress with longer periods of alone time, and continued positive reinforcement in her forever home will help her gain confidence.

Sage recently completed heartworm treatment in early December and is doing great! She will need her activity and excitement kept low for a few more months while she finishes her recovery.

Overall, Sage is an incredibly kind, affectionate, and loyal dog who will thrive in a home that offers patience, love, and plenty of snuggles. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious companion to join you on peaceful walks and cozy movie nights, Sage just might be your perfect match.

Interested in adopting?
