Meet Sadie, a 33 lb.,3 yr old Red Heeler/ Australian Shepherd mix girl.
Sadie was found at a busy port, where she was cared for and fed by the local boat captains and crews. She is friendly and playful,but first she needs to get to know you and trust you.
Sadie is great with other dogs and loves the water. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to go for a walk.
Sadie's ideal home will have another dog and a fenced yard.
Sadie was recently chosen for the DAWGS in Prison program, http://www.dawgsinprison.com .
The dogs selected for this program go through an intense 8-week training session and live with their trainers, handlers and caretakers in a dormitory style work camp. All of these dogs have had an extensive temperament test and get along well with other dogs and people.
They are available for adoption now and will go home with you after graduation on Jan. 11. The dogs are all crate trained, house trained, and basic obedience trained.
They can be expected to sit, stay, recall, down, heel, and respond to no and leave it. The dogs are also well trained on a leash.
Sadie is up to date on all vaccines as well as spayed/neutered.
