Ryder's Story

Ryder - 52 lbs

Ryder is the calmest of his four brothers, but don't let that fool you. He is still a playful, energetic young dog with plenty of personality and so much love to give. Sadly, Ryder has become one of our longest-term residents through absolutely no fault of his own.

Ryder has made wonderful progress during his time at the shelter. He walks well on leash, gets along with all of the dogs he has met, and genuinely enjoys learning. He knows sit, down, stay, and come, and he is highly food-motivated, making him an eager and rewarding dog to train. He is also potty trained.

Once Ryder gets to know you, his sweet personality really shines. He loves attention, enjoys getting tummy rubs, and is always happy to play. He has a gentle, affectionate side that makes him incredibly easy to fall in love with.

Unfortunately, Ryder and his brothers are often overlooked because of their medium-large size and youthful energy. But Ryder has so much more to offer than what you see from a kennel. He is smart, affectionate, playful, dog-friendly, and eager to please. He has spent far too much of his young life waiting for someone to choose him, and seeing Ryder finally walk out the shelter doors with his family would be incredibly special.

We know his person is out there. Ryder just needs someone willing to give him the chance to show them what a wonderful companion he can be.
