Ruthie's Story

This is from Ruthie's wonderful foster mom:.

"Ruthie is an energetic playful four month old German shepherd puppy. She is very intelligent, is eager to please and learns quickly. (She will talk back to you sometimes when you tell her no- it is really cute) . She loves dogs and cats - although she plays a little rough sometimes and has had to be put in her place by those animals- but when this happens she adjusts her behavior. She probably wouldn't do well with an older dog.

She is partially house trained and puppy pad trained - she will whine when she needs to go but if you don't react quickly she will just go-- of course she is just 3 months old and sometimes she forgets.

Ruthie came into the shelter with a back soft muscle injury, but has recovered with the help of the amazing canine physical therapist Robbie Porter at "Resurge" She shows little or no residual effects of whatever injury she had. Robbie said he thought she was almost 100%. She now plays and runs, although she is puppy clumsy. The only limitation I have seen is that she is reluctant to jump up on things or down from things. It could just be a puppy thing and as she gets older and stronger this should change."

To adopt, please email toby_levering@msn.com for an application or if you have any questions about our adoption process. We do require a completed application and a home visit will be conducted.
