Ruth's Story

Hi, my name is Ruth! I'm a GREEN pawprint, which means I will fit well into most homes. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Affectionate, gentle, quirky
-Can Live with Kids: Dog-savvy, respectful kids, recommending ages 8+. Up to counselors discretion.
-Can Live with Cats: No thanks - Ruth needs to go into a home with no feline friends.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes - Ruth would do well with another dog of similar size who is respectful of her boundaries. All initial introductions are done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along and SLOW introductions will need to continue in the home.
-Can do Apartment Living: Yard preferred, could do apartment with proper potty breaks, stimulation, and exercise.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: One private class (breed requirement).
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Nope, good to go!

Meet Ruth! This sweet gal came in to us as a stray so her background is unknown to us. What we have gather from her stay here is that she is an affectionate angel who would likely fit into any home. She is moderately playful, loves a good squeaky toy, so will need some stimulation and exercise in her new home. She can come across a little timid at first but with puppy talk, pets, and treats, you'll have a new bestie!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
