Rusty's Story

My name is Rusty, and I'm a golden-red lab mix. Seven years old and seventy pounds of pure love, that's me. My humans call me their cuddle monster, and honestly, they aren't wrong. Nothing beats a good snuggle.

My greatest quest in life is finding the perfect spot on the couch or armchair. I'm a master of the strategic approach. A little nudge here, a gentle lean there, and before you know it, my head is resting happily in their lap. Pure bliss! My second favorite is burrowing. A pile of blankets becomes my own personal cave, especially when accompanied by ear scratches.

Life is good. I have my Nylabones, which I gnaw on with gusto. Car rides are an adventure, even when it's just a trip to the grocery store. Sticking my head out the window and watching the road roll by? The best! But honestly, the highlight of my day is seeing my humans. Whether they've just popped out to get the mail or been gone for hours at work, the excitement is the same. Tail wags, happy barks, and showering them with slobbery kisses are the only appropriate response.

I need a foster-to-adopt family to help support my Blastomycoses with medication and vet visits. I'm still working on potty training and my foster uses male wraps on me to help. However, I'm a really good boy and don't potty in my crate at all. I am very social with humans and needs to be with a family that allows dogs on their furniture and bed.

I have to tell you that I'm an AKC registered golden Labrador who has been used for breeding my entire life. It took me about a month to be comfortable snuggling on a couch, going up and down stairs or jumping up on a bed. But now I can’t imagine life any differently! I'm told I'm truly a good boy who loves humans, does well with other dogs, and likes children! All I need are soft blankets and love!

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on Adopt, Apply for a Dog. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog. You MUST be an approved applicant to meet LOLIN dogs. There is no central location or hours to meet dogs.
