Meet Rusty! Rusty is the sweetest and most fun little guy! He loves to relax in the house with a toy and loves to be near people! He also is so down for any outdoor activity like a good walk or hanging out in the yard! He has spent most of his life living outside, so he will need some help to learn how to enjoy all the luxuries of living in a warm home! Rusty loves a treat and listens well to sit, lay down, and other commands! He is a very smart and attentive little guy and would be great around kids of all ages and other dogs! He also loves riding in the car and does a great job! He enjoys meeting new people. He is the best cuddle bug and would make a great addition to your home!

Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA's Adoption Policy

Adoption applicants must complete an application form as the first step towards acquiring a pet. Your application will be verified by staff who will explain the next step in your adoption process. All adoption criteria must be met before the adoption is approved. Once approved, you are under no obligation to complete the adoption if you change your mind. All dogs and cats are required to be spayed or neutered. The first step to solving the pet overpopulation problem is to prevent contributing to it. The deposit you pay at the time of the adoption goes towards that surgery wherever you choose to establish a relationship with a veterinarian. Pets are placed in the best possible home if there is more than one application pending. We cannot place a hold or accept a deposit on a pet. Adopters may only adopt 2 pets within a 30-day period. We can and do adopt to out-of-area homes given that the pet is spayed or neutered before crossing county lines per Virginia state law and the applicant has physically interacted with the pet. We will not ship a pet.
