Rupert pending adoption's Story
Rupert ~ 1.5 years old
Male / 24” tall / 29 kg

Rupert is a gentle giant with a delightfully silly streak. His fosters believe he is dominantly a Cane Corso mixed with German Shepherd, since he has the beautiful brindle coat of a Corso with the length and softness of a long-haired Shepherd. He is estimated to be about 1.5 years old.

Rupert has only lived in a house with humans for a short while. In that time, he's already learned to sit, lie down, walk on a leash, sleep in his crate, and ask to go outside for the bathroom. Despite never having lived inside before, Rupert has only ever had one accident in the house. Unlike most dogs, Rupert is not very food motivated when it comes to training - but that hasn't stopped him from learning! Rupert is an incredibly clever boy who's happy to earn his human's praise.
Having only been an indoor dog for a few weeks, Rupert is still shy around new humans. It takes him a bit of time to trust an unfamiliar person, but once he does, he becomes a (literal) giant snuggle buddy - sticking his head in your lap, sitting on your feet, or even gently putting both his paws on your shoulders to give you a hug. His silly side will start to come out too: lying entirely on his back to ask for belly rubs, stealing your shoes, socks, or mittens - not to wreck, just to hold in his mouth - and attempting to give your feet a pedicure whenever you get out of the shower.
Rupert lives with another dog, whom he adores and gets along well with. He has also interacted well with cats at the vet and would likely do just fine in a house with cat friends, too! Because he is skittish with new people, it would be better if there were no small children at his forever home.
Overall, Rupert is a sweet and curious soul that any family would be lucky to have. All he needs is a forever home willing to continue teaching him how to be an indoor dog and, of course, to give him lots of love.

Adoption fee is $295. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated.
