Runa's Story
Runa

German Shepherd Mix • Norse Myth Squad

Foster Location: Kenosha, WI
Age/Breed: 12 weeks old • German Shepherd mix

From the legendary Norse Myth Squad comes Runa — named after the ancient runes of Norse lore, symbols of destiny, strength, and protection. And just like her name suggests, Runa carries a quiet power that draws you in.

Runa has a calm, soulful presence. She is thoughtful and observant, often taking in her surroundings before joining the action. There is something steady about her — a grounded, gentle energy that makes her feel wise beyond her weeks. She bonds deeply and prefers to stay close to her people, content simply being nearby.

But every good Viking story needs a little mischief. Runa may be serene, but she absolutely loves a well-timed sneak-attack on her siblings. One moment she’s peacefully watching, the next she’s bouncing into playful ambush mode with joyful puppy enthusiasm.

She is well socialized and does beautifully with other dogs, kids, and cats. With cats, she is still refining her manners — she will not hurt them, but she may bark in their faces as she continues learning appropriate boundaries.

Runa is kennel trained (her own little “longhouse”) and is doing exceptionally well with potty training for such a young puppy. She naturally chooses to go outside and is eager to do the right thing. She is also beginning to work on basic commands and leash skills.

With a medium energy level, Runa offers a wonderful balance. She enjoys playing with balls, sticks, and ropes, but she is equally happy relaxing at your feet. She is very much a shadow or velcro dog — if you’re cooking dinner, she’ll lay quietly on the kitchen floor just to keep you company. Wherever you are is exactly where she wants to be.

Runa’s Highlights:

Great with dogs, kids, and cats (working on cat manners)

Kennel trained

Doing exceptionally well with potty training

Medium energy level

Thoughtful, gentle, and affectionate

Playful with a fun sneak-attack streak

Loyal, shadow-style companion

Adoption Fee: $450

If you are looking for a gentle, devoted companion with a playful spark and steady heart, Runa may be the perfect addition to your family.

Apply to adopt at MastroMutts.com/forms

Runa is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and is being fostered in Kenosha, WI.
