Rumor

We think Rumor is a breed called Kooikerhondje. It's a fairly newer breed to us, but she fits the description. She is like a Border Collie. She looks a lot like a Brittany Spaniel but she has the long beautiful tail and the chase drive of a Border Collie. She is approximately 1 year old and healthy. We adopted her from an animal shelter where she had been surrendered by her previous owner because she played with their other dog too much. And she is definitely a lot for most dogs to enjoy. We do have one dog that is her new best friend. His name is Vince and he is also available for adoption. We would love to adopt them together if possible. <br/><br/>Rumor is a super sweet and smart dog. She's also an active breed and she will require a lot of mental and physical exercise. She loves other dogs but some dogs think she's too much. She will do best with another dog that also enjoys constant playtime or as an only dog that gets what she needs physically and mentally from her human. She is housebroken and walks nicely on leash (most of the time). She will get excited at the sight of another dog but not aggressively. She just really wants to play with them all. But she responds well and will be easy to train. We do recommend that her adopter take an obedience class with her to build that healthy relationship. She was a bit of a chewer when we first adopted her but that has improved. She was chewing on blankets and rugs. <br/><br/>Rumor accepts pets from strangers and is very friendly. She's a bit reserved with children (limited interactions) but would be fine around kids. We don't think she would enjoy living with young active human children, because she has some trust issues surrounding fast movements and being grabbed. She's not aggressive, she just doesn't appear to enjoy it.<br/><br/>We are accepting applications from interested people who live within approximately 50 miles of our facility in Malibu, California. You can find that application at this website, www.samsimonfoundation.org. We will contact those that we think might be compatibile and invite you to come here to meet her. If the match feels right then we ask you to think about it for 24 hours. If after that it still feels right, then we will deliver the dog and do a final home and yard check at that time. There is no adoption fee.
