Rumi's Story

Rumi is a 4MO, 18lb Shepherd/Collie (we are guessing?) mix. He is most likely going to be about 35-45lbs when full grown. Rumi and his 3 siblings were found abandoned on the side of the road in Texas. We don't know how many of them there were originally, but unfortunately it's safe to assume there were others that didn't make it. Once they were rescued they were brought to a local vet to get the proper care and support they needed since they were emaciated and dehydrated. Once Rumi and his siblings were healthy and stable, they made their way to our rescue here in CO where we are hoping they find families of their very own.

Rumi's foster Momma has nothing but great things to say about him and his sister. They quickly learned the dog door and have been doing well with potty training. Rumi is incredibly snuggly and loving. He gets along great with the other dogs in the home (big and small) and does well with all the humans, including the fosters kid. Rumi loves to play and romp around the yard with the other dogs. He is a happy, happy pup with lots of fun puppy energy. He would do great in a home with another dog to play with, or someone who wants an adventure buddy and sidekick. He is always up for whatever! Since Rumi and his siblings seem to be super smart, he will thrive with someone who enjoys training and the rewards that come along with that.

If you are interested in adopting Rumi or one of his siblings, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com
