Rufus's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPT MERufus here!!! This guy has had SUCH a rough life! He doesn't know where he fits in or how to love or how to be loved. He came into rescue as a neglect case. You can see from 1 of the pictures that he had bald spots in his fur from allergies untreated. He was so very itchy and just miserable. We didn't know much about him but we knew we needed to save him. Now that his allergies are cleared up and he's been working with a trainer, we are convinced his home is out there somewhere! He does have certain requirements in order to keep him and others safe and to set him up for success. Rufus needs a strong handler to set boundaries with him. Someone with patience to guide him and show him how to live the doggy-dog life.

Rufus is toy motivated and loves to learn and go on adventures. From what we have observed he could live with a female dog his small or slightly smaller. He cannot be around small animals (dog or cat). He cannot be around small children. Teens would be OK! He is high energy and would love to go on hikes and do outdoorsy things with nature instead of neighborhood walks with many animals and kids running.

The care that Rufus has received in his life did not set him up for success but we KNOW this boy can have a great life if we find the right family! Adopt him today!

Cedar Valley Pit Bull Rescue's Adoption Policy
We are a volunteer based organization that works hard to place the right dogs with the right families. We want our dogs to have great, forever homes. Each of our available dogs stays with a foster family while waiting to be adopted. This ensures that the dogs stay socialized and remain in a family setting. For more information on the adoption process and for an application please visit our website at cvpbr.org or email us at: cvpitbulls@gmail.com. You can also find us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/CedarValleyPitBullLovers
