Rufus's Story
I will be available soon!

Hello to all you beagle lovers! My name is Rufus. I am a young man, all of 4 months old. While my age says I am a pup, I have had a tough life so far. I came from a home in Ohio that had way too many dogs, no one can be sure but I think about 40 of us lived there. Luck changed for some of us a few weeks ago. I was rescued by a shelter near my home. MW BREW was contacted and I whisked away to my foster home.

It has not been very easy for me so far. I did not have enough food, medicine or people around to pet me. Since I arrived at my foster home, fattening me up has been only one of the things my foster family is doing for me. The second thing to do was get me to the vet and have me checked out, top to bottom. Last but not least, they are petting me, hugging me and taking me out to experience what regular doggies do everyday. As of now I am starting check these things off of the list. I eat 3 times a day and gobble every bite, I have been to the vet and he said I am doing just fine. Foster family has seen me really happy and adjusting well to a busy house. I am still afraid of the cars going by on walks, but like everything it will take me a while to get used to them. My foster mom is so surprised to see how much I love children. I whimper and try to follow kids when they leave. I really liked the 4 little boys next door and even went to school to visit during lunchtime, it was noisy but they had great stuff on the floor, oh and the students just were crazy about me.

Well that’s about it for now, I will be sure to update everyone in a few days. It won’t be long before I am ready to go to my new family. I have to gain a bit more weight and then I’ll be ready and waiting for my new home. Love, Rufus

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog who will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
I will be available soon!
