Ruffles's Story

Meet Ruffles - The Queen of the Dog House Looking for Her Throne

Some dogs come into rescue with a story that breaks your heart. Ruffles is one of them.

Ruffles was found abandoned on Potato Chip Road alongside her daughter, left to fend for themselves with no explanation and no one coming back. Despite being let down by the people she depended on, Ruffles has never stopped loving humans. In fact, she seems determined to make up for lost time by soaking up every bit of affection she can get.

Estimated to be around 3 years old, Ruffles is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. She's healthy, happy, and more than ready to find the forever family she deserves.

Around the rescue dogs, Ruffles has earned her title as the Queen of the Dog House. She knows what she likes, and what she likes most is being close to her people. Whether she's curled up beside you on the couch, collecting pets and compliments, or keeping an eye on the household from her favorite comfy spot, Ruffles is happiest when she's part of the family.

She's proven to be potty trained and does very well in a home setting. Like any dog, if she's left waiting too long, she may have an accident, but overall she understands the routine and wants to do the right thing.

Ruffles gets along with other dogs, though she appreciates slow, proper introductions. Once she's comfortable, she's happy to coexist and enjoy life with canine companions. Fair warning, though, when it comes to toys and treats, Ruffles believes sharing is highly overrated! She's a bit of a toy and treat hog and would appreciate a family that understands her royal standards.

She loves attention, adores being petted, and forms strong bonds with her people. When her favorite human leaves, she doesn't bark up a storm, she lets out the cutest little yips to express her disappointment. It's hard not to smile when she does it.

We're still working on some leash manners, as Ruffles can get excited and pull during walks. We believe she would do well with respectful children who understand how to interact with dogs. One thing we know for certain: Ruffles needs a home without cats.

After everything she's been through, Ruffles deserves more than just a place to stay. She deserves a couch to claim, people to adore, and a family that will never leave her behind again.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big personality, a loving heart, and just the right amount of sass, Ruffles is ready to rule your home and your heart.

Are you ready to scoop up this one-of-a-kind little snack?
Ruffles is waitingtail wagging, eyes hopeful, heart wide open. Adoption is free, but meet and greet at the potential adopters home is required. Please text/call Michaela to meet Ruffles 660-723-5010.
