Ruffles's Story

Hold onto your hats, I'm zoomin' through! They say that "Ruffles have ridges", yet my shelter mom jokes that my brain is smooth. Not sure if that's a compliment or not but the folks here really love me, so I'll let it slide.

I was brought into Hope 4 Paws by a good samaritan who stopped to help me when I wandered into her driveway. My intake condition was quite poor - I was covered in filthy, matted hair. My limbs were encased in the tangles and there were sticks and leaves hanging off my belly. Our volunteer groomer suspects that I had never been groomed due to my extremely damaged coat. Yes, can you believe it? I came in with very long hair that sadly had to be removed to give my skin a chance to heal and make way for new, healthy regrowth.

Sometimes I have more energy and spice than I know what to do with and it leads me to make decisions that are....well, not always the best. I am searching for a family that will provide me with the guidance and structure that a young, silly pup like me needs to thrive. After my upcoming neuter surgery, the staff is going to reevaluate my interactions with other dogs as it is a bit difficult to judge my feelings with all the hormones doing the talking. I don't seem to pay too much mind to the feline friends here and would make a great companion for children ten and older who won't mind my wiggly worm zoomies.

Come give me the second chance I deserve!
