Rue's Story
You will certainly not rue the day you make Rue part of your family! This friendly girl loves attention from her human, but she will also happily chill on her own. Rue loves her crate and does well when left alone, but she also enjoys any soft surface: dog bed, human bed, or couch. In fact, you may have to remind Rue that the throw pillows don’t belong to her, or she will carry them around the house with her!

Thought to be around 5 yrs old, Rue is fully house trained, and though she arrived without much knowledge of basic commands, she is a quick learner and already knows “sit” and is in the process of mastering “shake.” Rue enjoys sometime in the yard on warmer days, but she does sometimes pull when on a walk, so this big girl will need someone to help her work on her leash manners.

Rue also shows interest in other dogs of all sizes, so she might do well with a canine sibling. However, we are unsure of her feelings about cats or children since her foster home contains neither. Rue’s foster describes her as a “big oaf” who never barks or guards and just wants to enjoy a chew toy and a belly rub.

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
