True to his Beagle roots, Rudy absolutely loves being outside, following interesting scents, and doing all the classic "beagle things" that make these dogs so lovable. Rudy is both house trained and crate trained, and he's a wonderfully quiet, easygoing companion. He isn't a high energy dog, but he enjoys spending time in the yard exploring and will happily play with other dogs once he's comfortable. When the excitement winds down, Rudy is content to simply relax and enjoy a peaceful environment. Because Rudy can be a little skittish with new things and loud noises, he does best when given time and space to settle in. Once he trusts you, his curious and gentle personality really shines through. He's the kind of dog who may start off a bit reserved, but slowly blossoms into a loyal companion who enjoys being part of the family. Rudy also does great with older kids and especially enjoys the company of respectful children. Rudy will be starting heartworm treatment in April, and with the support of his rescue and future family, he's on the path to feeling his very best.<br/>His ideal home would be calm and patient, preferably with another friendly dog and a secure fenced yard where he can safely explore and follow his nose.
