Rudy's Story

Rudy is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster!

Rudy is:
Neutered: Yes!
Up to date on vaccines: Yes!
Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized

More about Rudy:
Housebroken: Yes! Has done great with a routine! Uses a bell on the door to let you know when he has to go potty.
Crate trained: Yes! Does great in the crate and sleeps in it through the night. Can also be left free-roam in a "puppy proofed" area!
Leash walking: Rudy has shown some fear-based reactivity to strangers and other dogs on walks. Having a confident resident dog can help a great deal! He is muzzle trained as well. He would benefit from continuing to work on this and would do best in a quiet neighborhood.
Ideally, he would have yard where is he isn't distracted by the world around him and can focus on you, a dog pal, and/or romping around.

Dog social: Yes! He loves other dogs, and finds comfort and confidence when with another dog. Rudy is very intense when first meeting dogs and it may take a little time to introduce him to a resident dog. He has successfully met and lived with at least 3 different dogs. He shares well and loves to play. He reads cues well and can give a dog space when needed.

Cat social: Unknown, but he has shown some prey drive toward critters on walks. He currently doesn't respond to hearing cat meows behind a closed door in his foster home.

Kid friendly: Unknown, but would do best with older kids due to his size and exuberant personality!

Rudy likes:
- Being as close to you as possible
- Playing with stuffed toys and tug of war
- Playing with a dog pal
- Sitting on the couch
- Holding hands
- Showing you his skills for treats
- Munching on a bone

Rudy is a sweet, smart boy that wants to give you all of his love! He loves toys and bones, romping around with other dogs, and playing outside. He gets so silly in the snow! He lights up when you're around and wants to be as close to you (or your dog) as possible. He's so curious about you, he's your biggest fan and finds everything you do fascinating. He just wants your love and attention, to play with toys, get cuddle sessions, and knock out on the couch together. He will even watch reality TV with you! Rudy is learning how to navigate the world and learn he is safe and loved, so he would love an adopter who can help him have positive experiences as he explores new things, places, and meets people! He's a year old but has been through a lot in his short life! He's eager for the chance at his very own family and a place to call his forever home. Your heart and your home will never be empty if you adopt this gentle giant.

Rudy's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter, and he is ready to cuddle up with his forever person!

Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/

*** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
