Rudy's Story

Meet Rudy Rudy is a handsome 5-year-old black Lab mix with the softest eyes and the calmest soul. He's been coined the handsomest boy in our neighborhood! He's vaccinated, neutered, and ready to find a forever home where he can settle in and be someone's sidekick for life! Rudy is a gentle, docile boy who truly enjoys the simple pleasures of life: a good meal, a nice long nap, a leisurely walk, and quality time with his people. He's playful when it's time to play, but equally content snoozing nearby on his many beds (or on the couch next to you) or hanging out until dinner rolls around. A day in Rudy's ideal life looks like: Waking up breakfast a long nap a lovely walk playtime another nap relaxing with his humans until dinner. Balance! He's very food-motivated (as any good lab is), this makes training fun and easy. He is very eager to please, and a great listener. Rudy is house-trained and crate-trained, and he does a wonderful job communicating his needs. He knows sit, stay, paw, shake, lie down, go to bed. The only time he is vocal is when he is nudging you, saying, "Let's go on a walk!" Even then, it's more of a croon He does have a bit of a counter-surfing habit-mostly because he really loves food-but with guidance and consistency, he's quick to learn to not take that lone slice of pizza off the counter Patient, and good with kids and other dogs, Rudy would thrive in an easy-going home, especially one with another friendly dog who could be his buddy, but he does fine as a solo dog as well. He'd also do best with a family that's around often and enjoys a relaxed, loving companion. He currently has some manageable skin allergies, which are being well cared for, and he's doing great. If you're looking for a sweet, steady, affectionate dog who will happily match your pace and bring calm joy into your home, Rudy might just be your perfect match.
