Ruby's Story

Meet RUBY

Ruby's perfect home would be with someone active who has the time to run her on the bicycle early every morning or take her for a long run. She would do well in a home with another larger, well balanced dog. Ruby needs a fenced yard, preferably a higher fence in very good condition. Apartments will not be considered. Families with small children (who leave doors open) will not be considered. Unless you have the time and patience to train a husky not to escape, it's best not to tempt fate and look for another breed.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ruby was found as a stray with no identification. She was very wary of finder and that trait has remained with her. But once she knows you mean her no harm she is your bestie! She is super affectionate and such a loving dog. Well balanced comes to mind. She prefers to find a cool spot to nap or sleep at night, but does love to jump next to you for a bit in the morning to say hello. Ruby is a true gem!

Ruby is in a home with large and small dogs. She loves them all and is very playful. It's her favorite thing to do. She loves to play chase outside. And if nobody will chase her she will find one to wrestle with, even getting the older, grouchy boys to play with her.

Overall Ruby is a quiet dog unless she gets super excited, like going on her walks and she will voice her approval. She walks really well, enjoying a lot of sniff time and does not react to seeing other dogs out walking. Ruby is reliably house trained and does her business on walks. She kennels really well and is so smart. She quickly learned how to use the dog door and sit/stay before eating, basically the house rules. She got out twice after going to foster but only stretched her legs (ran) and came right back. We are working on door training to sit and wait.

Ruby was underweight but had no health problems. Probably because she had no reliable meals she will counter surf, but we are working on this, showing her to trust she will be fed. Ruby is raw fed and has done fantastic. Her coat has become glossy and so soft, and shedding has really diminished.

Ruby is not a large dog, weighing about 47 lbs. We think she is mixed with some type of shepherd as she has patches of brown fur and lovely light brown eyes. She has been spayed and microchipped, and will be vaccinated when adopted.

Ruby is with No One's Dog Rescue in Cypress, Texas. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit who take in street dogs, revitalize their health and find loving forever homes. If you are interested in meeting Ruby, please fill out and submit our adoption form first.
