Ruby's Story

Meet Ruby! Ruby is one of five puppies born to mama Gemma (her little gemstones) on November 19, 2025. Gemma was rescued as a very pregnant stray and delivered her puppies just a few days after being rescued. The puppies are full of kisses, cuddles, and mischief! Mama Jade is a short-haired Chihuahua mix, but we aren't sure what dad is; Ruby is the only puppy with wiry fur- maybe some Terrier in there? Ruby currently weighs four-pounds. She is an outgoing puppy who loves to cuddle AND play. Ruby developed a cherry-eye this past month. This is not a painful or contagious condition, and will be fixed at our vet clinic as part of her adoption fee.

Remember that while puppies are cute, they are also work! Please make sure you are ready for the commitment of adopting a young dog. Puppies become adult dogs and are meant to be loved for their whole life, not just until they grow up. Puppies will need lots of patience to help them learn their best doggy manners, leash-training, and house-training.

Adoption fees are $500 per puppy and include vaccinations, microchip, and eventual alter surgery at the PAWS clinic on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Per our vet, we do not alter puppies until around five months, which helps with hormone development and bone growth. Adopters will sign a contract that you will bring your puppy to the PAWS clinic for spay/neuter surgery, sometime in April 2026.
