Rubi's Story

Rubi is a sweet 1-year-old female, weighing around 17lb of love! She is an introvert at heart and can be slow to warm up, but is incredibly affectionate once she gets to know you.

She was originally very shy and fearful when we first rescued her, but has built meaningful relationships with staff and doggie friends - we watch her confidence grow daily, and she would truly thrive with someone who has the patience to lend her.

Rubi would do best with someone who can go slow with her and continue to help her build her confidence and leash walking skills in public spaces using positive reinforcement training.

Rubi requires a home that has a fully enclosed fenced yard, or requires adopters who can actively manage her on a secure long leash line if the yard itself is not enclosed. She can be skittish and fearful, and will Houdini her way out if she's not in a fully secure space.

Our staff describes her as being "very gentle and affectionate - she nuzzles her head iin your arm when wanting affection. She's super observant of her surroundings when in new places, and does really well in the crate!"

Professional photos by Kelsey Swann Photography - https://www.kelseyswannphotography.com/
