Roxy's Story

Roxy is the kind of dog who lives life with her whole heart—and often, a splash. If there’s water nearby, she’s in it. Whether it’s a puddle, a kiddie pool, or just her water bowl, Roxy turns it into playtime.

She’s an active girl who’s starting to mellow out now that she’s out of the puppy stage. We’ve been working on her “settle” cue and she’s catching on fast—especially if there’s food involved. She’s super smart and loves to learn. She already knows “sit,” “down,” “place,” “come,” and “off,” and we’re currently working on her leash manners. She is also crate trained.

Roxy is a classic velcro dog. She loves being close to her people and will happily follow you around the house just to be near you. She gets along well with other dogs and does well pretty well with cats as well.

She can be a little anxious in new situations and may need some time to warm up to strangers—but once she’s comfortable, she’s affectionate, goofy, and full of love. Her anxiety shows up in vocal ways sometimes, but with consistency, structure, and the right treats, she bounces back quickly.

If you're looking for a loyal, playful, water-loving sidekick who wants to learn and grow with you, Roxy might just be your girl.

If interested please go to www.ruhrohrescue.org and look under adoptable pets to fill out an application form.
