Roxy's Story

UPDATE: Roxy is great with other dogs!! It took me over a month to test her face to face with some of my dogs because she seemed unsettled at first and then she gets spayed and I wanted her to recover. I finally introduced her one st a time to all eight of my dogs and she did perfectly. Even when one of my other females hackled at her and nipped she just looked surprised and turned and walked the other way. She's amazing!!! Now they can all be in the same room or hanging around in the yard and she's really good with them. Sometimes they play very appropriate depending on their size. Roxy would love a home of her own, with a strong knowledgeable owner who can continue her training and give her the love and attention she craves.

Roxy's had a rough start to life. Several weeks ago someone witnessed her being pushed out of a car and then the driver sped away leaving her in a strange neighborhood alone and terrified. She spent the next four or five days and nights wandering around being chased off by various neighbors until they finally contacted us. They claim she was aggressive so we used a trap and got her the following morning. Once In The trap it became obvious that she was not aggressive she was just scared and didn't know what was happening which was understandable. She's been staying in a second house on the Foster's property so she's alone sometimes as much as 22 hours a day. She has behaved flawlessly in the house, not a single accident, nothing destroyed or chewed. She's fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, got spayed on July 26th. She already knows sit, down, shake. She's bubbly and exuberant and loves to cuddle and give kisses and please her people by doing commands. Intermittently food and toy motivated for training. So smart and just the whole package. She has not been tested up close with the dogs. She seemed reactive somewhat before she was spayed. Whether it was just excitement and exuberance at meeting a new dog or something else we weren't sure. She seems very curious about cats so caution will be necessary if there are cats in the household. We're hoping to test her with dogs up close soon. Wanted to give her a little time to recoup from the spay. She's being fostered near Cortez Colorado. If you'd like to schedule a meet with Roxy please get in touch. Thank you
