Roxie's Story
Roxie's Adoption Portfolio

Our sweet girl, Roxie, had her final procedure and X-rays on October 14 to remove the lump on the tip of her tongue. She is officially ready to find a family to call her own! She has come such a long way since she was found cowering in our front bushes on July 26.

**Here are a few things to know about Roxie:**

She is a cattle dog mix.

She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

She is estimated to be 6 years old.

She weighs 36 pounds.

She is a very quiet girl. We have yet to hear her bark about anything!

She isn't much of a snuggler, but she does appreciate a good brushing and some belly rubs.

She is incredibly sweet and LOVES treats!

She gets along great with other dogs as long as they are friendly with her. However, if another dog starts something, Roxie won't back down.

She does well with cats, too! Our cat likes to pounce on her from behind the curtain, and Roxie doesn't react at all. As long as the cat is cool with her, she'll be cool with the cat.

She is wonderful with people. From day one, she has been sweet and gentle with everyone she's met. She's met quite a few people during her time with us, and she always has a tail wag for everyone!

**A little about Roxie's medical history:**

When Roxie was found, it was clear that something wasn't right with her back left leg. X-rays taken right away revealed fractures in both her tibia and fibula that were already in the process of healing. This means she had been injured but hadn't received treatment.

We've been keeping her activity limited to give her leg time to heal. Follow-up X-rays on 10/14 showed that her leg has healed as much as it is going to. She still seems to have some lingering pain, but it can be managed. Her future family will need to keep this in mind and be mindful of her limitations.

Roxie isn't going to win any races or herd any livestock, and that's just fine with her! She isn't looking for a job or an adventure-filled life. She's looking for a soft place to land and a family to love. She's perfectly happy being a lazy little couch potato.

After everything she's been through, Roxie deserves a family who will love her, understand her limitations, and let her enjoy the peaceful, comfortable life she deserves.

Could Roxie be the girl you've been looking for?
