Roxie's Story

Meet Roxie

Roxie is a 2½–3-year-old mixed breed weighing about 32 lbs, with a beautiful bi-color coat and an easy, low-maintenance grooming routine. She’s a loyal, affectionate girl who forms deep bonds with her people and thrives on companionship.

Roxie came to Dogworks after her beloved owner passed away suddenly. She truly was his shadow—going everywhere with him, even riding on his motorbike with her very own helmet. After his passing, Roxie was left alone much of the time with only brief visits, and understandably became sad and withdrawn. Since coming into foster care, she has made wonderful progress and is beginning to rediscover her happy, playful self.

Roxie would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. She is a true “people dog” who quickly finds her person and stays close—following you from room to room, checking in to make sure you’re okay, and offering her paw as a gentle request for pets. If you sit down, she’s happy to hop right up for snuggles.

She loves routine and does well with a predictable daily schedule. Her ideal day includes a morning potty break, breakfast, a walk, playtime, a car ride or store outing, and then a mix of cuddles, toy time, and relaxing with her humans. Roxie enjoys walks, playing fetch, being in the yard, and riding in the car—especially if it means going somewhere together.

Roxie can be a little cautious meeting new people while out on walks, but she warms up quickly in a home setting. She gets along well with other dogs, taking a few days to settle in before happily joining the pack. She is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and leave it. She responds well to verbal correction and is generally very well behaved.

She does require a securely fenced yard, preferably with a taller fence, as she has shown some climbing ability. Roxie isn’t fond of having her nails handled and may try to avoid the situation when uncomfortable, so gentle handling and patience are important.

Affectionate, loyal, playful, and quietly protective, Roxie is a wonderful companion who loves both adventure and downtime. She’s just looking for a home where she won’t be alone again—a place where she can give her whole heart to someone who will be there for her in return.

She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Her adoption fee is 350.00

Please follow the link below for her adoption application.
