Roxi's Story

Sweet Roxie was surrendered by her owner who could no longer care for her.
She had an accident as a puppy which left her with a bump on her head (it just adds to her character and she has no long-term health effects :P). It does make her look like a little old lady but she is only 4 years old.
She seems to like all dogs when out an about just to greet them or play for short periods of time but in a home she likes to be the dominant dog so a male submissive dog or no other dog would be best. She does not like cats. All summer her favorite thing to do was to just lay outside and soak up the sun, now with the colder weather she enjoys snuggling in her blankets on her bed with some stuffies. She is generally a very quiet, calm and sweet lady! - except with rope toys. She LOVES rope toys! She is quickly becoming a favorite at the shelter.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
