Rowdy's Story

Rowdy is a 3-year-old boy that is looking for a new home. He would do best as an only dog. He can be a bit bossy to other dogs in the home, but when out on a walk he is scared and shy, so he lacks confidence. He does resource guard food and toys in the foster home, so being an only dog until he has learned not to do that would be best for him. Because of this behavior, kids would not be the best for him either. He could benefit from someone willing to do training to make him a more confident dog, he is eager to please and very teachable. He is potty trained and kennel trained. He loves to snuggle and is just looking for his best friend, if you think he would be welcome in your home and you have the time to teach him good manners, let us know.

All our dogs are current on vaccinations which include Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella. They are spayed and or neutered, have been fecal tested and heartworm tested, and had a dental cleaning if necessary. They are all on heartworm and flea/tick preventative as needed in rescue. They all will have a microchip that will be registered in the adopter's name and is good for a lifetime with no additional fees.

The adoption process is an application, a vet reference, a home inspection, and a lifetime contract. The requested adoption donation for all our dogs is $400.

We do not REQUIRE a fenced in yard (some dogs do not require a fence, if they can walk well on harness and leash. This is decided by what is best for each dog individually.)

We are willing to adopt to out-of-state applicants, but you must travel to the foster home location of your dog which is in Omaha or within a 90-minute drive from the Omaha area to meet and travel home with your dog. We do not transport or ship dogs.

If you are interested in adding this beautiful baby to your loving family, please visit our website and fill out an adoption application at http://www.nebraskadachshundrescue.org/adoptapp.htm
The adoption fee is $400.
