Rowdy

Howdy Rowdy!

Meet Rowdy, a handsome 3-year-old black-and-silver German Shepherd with a heart as big as his smile! This sweet tripod boy has been through more than his fair share of life changes, but none of them have dimmed his spirit. Now, he’s ready to find the one thing he’s never truly had: a loving home to call his own.

Rowdy started life as a breeder’s dog, but an injury as a puppy resulted in the amputation of his right hind leg, making him unsuitable for sale or breeding. When the breeder went out of business earlier this year, Rowdy found himself bouncing from place to place before finally landing with Serendipity. After all that uncertainty, it’s his turn to find a family who will love him for exactly who he is.

And what a dog he is! Rowdy has never met a stranger and is happy to share his affection with just about everyone. Despite his name, he’s more of a lover than a troublemaker. Sure, he enjoys a good romp and has plenty of goofy charm, but he’s also a world-class snuggler. A belly rub is practically his love language, and before you know it, this sweetheart will be snoozing with his head resting on your lap. As far as German Shepherd personalities go, Rowdy falls in the extra sweet and lovable category!

Missing a leg hasn’t slowed this boy down one bit. Rowdy is remarkably agile, loves to play, and is always ready for his next adventure. You might even forget he’s a tripod—until he comes zooming past you in hot pursuit of a favorite toy! He hasn’t had much experience riding in cars, but he’s done well on transport trips. He may need a little help getting into the car, but he’ll be ready to roll once he’s aboard.

Rowdy is looking for a family that will embrace his three-legged swagger, enjoy his playful side, and appreciate his exceptionally sweet nature. He’s a real-life Marmaduke—a big-hearted, goofy, lovable companion who is sure to fill your days with laughter, your lap with cuddles, and your life with unconditional love.

Rowdy gets along well with other large dogs, but a home without cats would be best. Because he can be enthusiastic, older kids who are comfortable around an energetic dog would be the best fit. Given the amount of time he has spent in a boarding kennel, he would likely be fine in a crate.

Could Rowdy be your perfect match? After all the bouncing around, Rowdy deserves a place where he can finally settle in, feel safe, and know he’s home for good. This sweet boy has so much love to give, and we can’t wait for his happily-ever-after family to come along and say, “Howdy Rowdy – you’re our boy now.”

-------------------
Our Adoption Fees:
-------------------

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450

* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400

* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program!
