Adopt Rowan! 1.5 year old, 28 pound, male Border Collie.<br/><br/>Rowan loves everyone he meets! He’s social, affectionate and always excited to greet new people with tail wags and enthusiasm. He has excellent stamina and enjoys activities like fetch, frisbee and agility tunnels. His joyful energy is contagious. He learns quickly and enjoys working with his people.<br/><br/>He knows sit, down, roll over, spin and wait for both doors and car rides. He also responds to night-night for crate time and is food and toy motivated, which makes continued training easy and fun. Rowan is crate trained and understands the “night-night” cue, though he prefers his crate when he’s not being left alone for long. He is fully potty trained and has great house manners, making him easy to live with day-to-day.<br/><br/>Due to a sad start to life, Rowan does have separation anxiety. He has made remarkable progress, as he used to bark and scream when left alone, but now he mostly whines briefly and then settles down. With consistency, he’s learning to feel secure and calm when his people are away. His ability to self-soothe has greatly improved, showing how responsive and emotionally intelligent he is when given patience and structure. Due to this, Rowan will do best in a home where someone is home often or can include him in daily activities. Read below for more information.<br/><br/>Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Raising The Bar Animal rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).<br/><br/>Our adoption fee is $500. This fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on heartworm prevention.<br/><br/>Note: RTB reserves the right to deny any application that is deemed unsuitable for the animal. Please be aware that our animal adoptions are NOT on a first come- first serve basis. Our sole purpose is to find the best possible home for the animals that fall under our care.
