Rover's Story

**Rover graduated the Paws in Prison Program on Dec 9, 2025. He is now crate trained, house-trained and he learned a few tricks as well! He is now looking for a forever home before he forgets everything he has learned. You see, at the shelter there are not people to practice his commands with so it's easy to forget.

The program trainer had this to say about Rover: “Rover is now totally reliable with sit, down, stay, come, wait, shake hands, high five, and catch. He walks nicely on leash naturally. His reliability is what is most amazing, when asked to do something, he does it (though maybe slowly). Everyone who has met him agrees that he is just such a sweet and gentle dog.”

Read more about him below...

Rover is one happy guy with gorgeous eyes. He is gentle and easy-going. He is also good with other dogs, cats and adults, but small children scare him with their loud noises and fast movements. He is extremely smart, super sweet and needs a family or person who will shower him with attention and love. If you would like more information, please contact the shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at www.schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.
