Rover's Story

Rover is a large, neutered male GSP that was picked up by animal control in southern Massachusetts. He is a very sweet dog that was obviously a house dog before he was lost. He was never claimed and has been at the shelter receiving antibiotic treatment for symptomatic Lyme disease. He is otherwise healthy and a very mellow guy! If you are looking for a low key pet, this is your man! The vet that saw Rover thinks he is about 8-10 years old. While not a requirement for adoption, FENCING IS STRONGLY PREFERRED AT TIME OF ADOPTION. We adopt dogs on a “best” fit basis and will discuss fencing/non fencing options should it deem appropriate for a particular dog. If you would like to discuss fencing options with our volunteers, please e-mail us, or make a note in the "fence" section of the adoption application (link below).

Complete an online Potential Adopter Form. We will receive your application only if you reside in MA, RI, NH, ME or VT. If you live outside of these areas, please click here for rescue contact info for other states.

*Please note: we are an all-volunteer organization, and sometimes it will take a few days before you hear from someone. We do our best to contact potential adopters within 48 hours, but it is not always possible. Please be patient with us. Given our strained time resources, we ask that if you are interested in a particular dog that you submit an application first, before writing to inquire about a dog. ALL adopters must fill-out an adopter form.
