Rotini (I need someone with a BIG heart)'s Story

PLEASE READ ABOUT ROTINI-Rotini is a special girl looking for a special home. She was found by the side of the road with her puppies. They were all brought up to Maryland and the puppies all found homes, but Rotini suffered from severe anxiety. This poor girl was afraid to even leave her crate. After time, medication, and work with a positive reinforcement trainer, she has become much more comfortable in her environment.

This sweet girl is house trained, great with dogs, and has a very sweet silly personality. Once she warms up to you she will give you so many happy dances when you come home, get out of bed in the morning, open the door to go outside etc. She loves to sit near her human on the couch and has her way of letting you know when she needs something (mostly intense staring). She loves to meet new dogs and is very submissive with them. She would do great in a multi dog environment.

Rotini still struggles with being touched by hand. She usually just gets up and walks away. She has no problem with incidental touch, like if you brush against her while walking past her. She does not become aggressive at all. She will move away or hide if scared. She may also hide if a large number of guests come to the home.

Rotini needs a patient adopter, preferably without small children (they make her nervous). Also, because she doesn’t like to be touched by hand, she does not regularly go on walks with a leash, so a secure fenced yard is a necessary. The ideal adopter will be willing to spend time letting her get comfortable and will not be expecting to pet her on the first meeting, although she may be willing to take treats from you.

Adoption fee waived to the right adopter.

PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped.

Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)

We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment
