Ross's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Foster or forever home wanted, meet Ross! Ross entered the Riverside shelter as a stray on October 30th. Ross wasn't microchipped and his people never came looking for him. As it goes in the shelters, black dogs are often overlooked and can sit for a long time waiting to be noticed. This isn't a good thing in today's overcrowded shelter environment with the high influx of stray and owner surrendered dogs.

When Ross's time was up, we needed to devise a plan for this young, sweet, handsome boy to make sure he got his second chance. While never ideal, we were able to get him into boarding to save his life until a foster home opens up or a forever family comes along.

Volunteers and staff speak highly of Ross which is also evident in the fact he was still there after a month! They all state he is sweet, affectionate, gentle and grateful for kindness. Ross just came to us December 6th, so we are just getting to know him. But so far, we can tell you, everything we've heard about him is true and he is absolutely gorgeous.

If you are interested in meeting Ross, please head over to labradorsandfriends.org to fill out an application.
