Rosita's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Rosita! Rosita is a 1-2year old female chihuahua and she weighs about 5 pounds. Rosita arrived in rescue after her previous home could no longer care for her. Her foster mom says: Rosita is timid when you first meet her, but once she feels safe and comfortable in her surroundings, her playful personality begins to emerge. New experiences make her nervous and she can be a little skittish. Loud noises do startle her. Once she gains confidence in her new home, she loves playing with toys and having fun with her furry friends. She's pretty good at lounging on the couch as well. She does well with other dogs around her size, although she may need a week or so to feel comfortable and become friends. Having another confident, friendly dog in the home may help her build confidence and feel more secure. On rare occasions, she can be a little protective of her space or her person, but she responds well to a quick correction and moves on. She loves her meal and snack time. Rosita sleeps in the human bed underneath the blankets and will snuggle as close to you as possible. She is not yet fully house trained, but we are actively working with her and making progress. Because she is timid, she would do best in a home without young children. Dog-savvy children ages 13 and older should be ok. Rosita does not walk on a leash and will absolutely need a secure fenced in yard!! Rosita is a sweet girl who is ready to find her family. She is looking for someone who will give her the time, patience, and reassurance she needs to feel safe. Rosita may take a little time to warm up, but she is absolutely worth the wait.

Rosita is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned.

Rosita is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $425. If you are interested in applying to adopt Rosita, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
