Rosie Marie-417-Prattville,2AL's Story

Hi! My name is Rosie Marie, 9 years old, spayed and I WAS a little chunk of a Boston! But I've been on a diet and exercise program and now I weigh 22.8 lb! I am friendly to all dogs, big, small and my size. I am quiet and love to lay around and sleep. I know my name and trying to learn basic commands. I do well on a leash, but will take off initially and then slow down to a slow walk. I play with my three playmates, two other Bostons and one French Bulldog. They play longer than me, I get tired and go find an empty bed or jump on the couch and go to sleep for a while. I do not like crates and will whine, but I am very calm and do not get into things lying around the house. My favorite hobbies are eating and sleeping. Even though I love to eat, I only growl when my playmates come near my bowl, but I do not bite. I am cuddly and my fur is super soft. I prefer lying right next to you or at your feet when it is bed time. I will sometimes go lay on the couch, but prefer sleeping next to a human.

We just found out from my doctor that I have low thyroid, so that's probably why I was overweight when I first came here and get tired easily. So I'm now taking a pill a day (really cheap pills!) and now I have a svelt figure! I'll probably have more energy, but I'll still be cuddly:)

THE BASICS:

Age: 9 years

Weight: 22.8 lb

Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes

On Heartworm Prevention: Yes

House-trained: Yes

Crate-trained: Not a fan

Leash Skills: Yes

LIKES/DISLIKES:

Other Animals: Love dogs; unsure about cats

People/Kids: Love

Car Rides: Yes

Separation: No problem

CONTACT/QUESTIONS:

Contact foster parents, Peter or Julie Hu, (757) 753-4692/(757) 559-8067. Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee's Adoption Policy
For the Application and much more information, go to The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website, Boston Terrier Rescue of East TN at bostonterriertn.org and use the online application. We require both an adoption application & a contract. We check Vet references, interview families and do home visits. We ask for a nominal adoption donation to help us defray the medical expenses of the next homeless dog. It generally costs us more than we take in in fees per dog to completely vet a dog. Many come to us old and frail, often sick, making donations more critical. We are not subsidized by the government or any foundation, but rather by only a few very good people. We're delighted to get donations. Our adoption application is available on-line and we will generally respond within 24-48 hours to your application and answer any initial questions. Anyone wishing to adopt should complete the online application on bostonterriertn.org If you don't get an answer to an inquiry it's probably because your question was already answered in the bio -- and if the dog is still posted on our website, that means he/she is still available.
