Rosie's Story

Meet Rosie!

Rosie is an 8-month-old, 28-pound Shepherd mix from Puerto Rico who is dog friendly, kid friendly, crate trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands in both English and Spanish! She is affectionate, adaptable, rarely barks, and has excellent recall.

Rosie is a happy, curious girl who seems to approach life with a smile. She loves sniffing around the yard, doing somersaults on the lawn, chasing bugs, going for walks, and playing with her dog friends at the park. She enjoys getting outside and staying active, but she is not a high-energy dog.

One of Rosie's best qualities is her ability to settle. After a walk or some playtime, she is perfectly happy to relax on the sofa or settle into her crate while her people work, run errands, or take care of things around the house. Give her a new bone to chew and she is especially content!

Rosie is doing very well with house training and has very few accidents. She much prefers going potty outside and would love a home with a yard or other outdoor space where she can explore and enjoy some time outside.

She is friendly with strangers, good with kids, and doesn't scare easily. Rosie is not quite ready for off-leash adventures in public, but she has excellent recall and continues to learn every day.

And when it comes to affection, Rosie is all in! She loves her people and will happily herd her foster into a corner to make sure she gets plenty of pets. When it's time to relax, she wants nothing more than to curl up right beside you on the sofa.

Rosie's ideal home is one where she can enjoy regular walks, some playtime, and access to outdoor space. She would be happy with another dog to play with, but she also knows how to relax and enjoy some quiet time with her people.

Rosie is truly an absolute gem. She is sweet, affectionate, easygoing, and ready to find her forever family!

Apply at BARRKLI.org to adopt Rosie
